WEST DRAYTON, LONDON
Replacing a former derelict industrial warehouse in West Drayton, DAPA gained planning approval for 44 affordable apartments on a 0.178H site, achieving a high density of 247 DPH. Designed in accordance with the London Design Guide, each apartment has a private balcony and share access to a communal amenity deck and roof garden. The proposed palette of materials reflects not only the pragmatic requirements of social housing for a robust, easily maintained building that will age gracefully, but are also compatible in terms of colour, tactile quality, and natural variations within the local area.
