This master plan included provision of 2,350 dwellings over two sites totalling 120ha. The proposal would also include a local centre with shops, community facilities and a primary school. The development was designed as a logical urban extension to South Ockendon and organic growth of North Stifford, with the Mardyke Valley running between them. This created the opportunity to enhance the valley and offer access to thousands of new residents.
