Nos. 55, 56 and 57 New Street, Chelmsford (collectively known as ‘Maynetrees’) is a Grade II listed building which formerly served as judges lodgings for the nearby courtrooms. The existing building fabric dates predominantly from the 18th Century, with some significant 19th Century alterations and extensions. The building is located within the Central Chelmsford Conservation Area. The sensitive restoration and conversion of this disused building into 10 residential apartments was further enhanced by the addition of two sympathetic yet contemporary glass extensions to the rear.
